The Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport

More commonly known as the CDG airport, the Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport is located in Paris, France’s heart. More specifically speaking, the accurate location of the airport is nearly 20 miles northeast of Paris. The airport is a well-constructed and very well-known airport that serves almost 320 different cities of the world. This airport is often the go-to choice for travelers and tourists who are frequently visiting France. This is due to the number of frequent flights going in and out of the country. Adding to this, the airport offers many facilities that make the entire traveling experience much more convenient and fun. CDG is especially a great choice if you’re staying near the Right Bank. However, if you want to visit the Eiffel Tower or reside near it, the CDG Airport is not mainly the best option since it can take a lot of time to reach via rail or other public transport.

How to reach Paris by Public Transport from CDG?

In case someone is visiting the Eiffel Tower or wants to stay near the area, the CDG Airport should be considered a second option. However, if someone does arrive at the CDG, then there are a plethora of options to choose from as far as public transportation is concerned. To reach the city from CDG, the best option is to take the RER B. RER B is a commuter train that takes less time to reach the city. Having said that, it makes a number of stops in between before reaching the destination. The destination can be reached within a time frame of 30 – 40 minutes, depending upon the traffic on the roads. This journey can cost roughly about 12 – 14 US$. Once you are in Paris, you can take the local metro to finally reach your destination.

CDG & Taxis

You can also opt for the local Taxi option or the Uber option as well. In such a scenario, you can expect to reach the destination on time. However, this option is slightly more expensive. If you take the local Taxi or the “Taxi Parisien”, you can expect the overall fare to reach around $50. However, in the case of Uber, you can reach the destination quicker and at a cheaper rate. This option can cost around 35$ – 40$.
